when suddenly your heart breaks because you realise everything is temporal
and that nothing is forever
and that you should treasure your friends here
and that one can hardly get enough time
and when you feel sad when you see the back of your friends as they walk away in the night and even though you know they'll come back tomorrow
you wish you could help them.
my greatest regret in db was not staying for this year's u14s.
there's so much i want to say to the graduates. my peers. my juniors. the six. the eight.
but i just can't get it out.
the memories: how we pwned, got pwned, played, tried, sweated, discovered, got together for kaobei-ing sessions and watch the pieces on the chessboard move. how we went through one, two, three, four years together watching each other and encouraging each other.
everyone else writes about how they missed the times together with their own groups, and that's all well and fine. but i don't know about this. good friends, good memories.
even though i haven't left,
it's strange that what i look forward to is also so, so, so bittersweet.
the interviews reminded me of how fast the hands of time moved forward. in a blink of the eye, it's one year, my batchmates are "retiring", liks is at the helm with khow as his second-in-command, the six is one year more senior. as a group, the following year promises to be exciting, with powerhouses liks and khow as leaders, and the year after that will reveal the combined prowess of the six.
i guess it's time to write this, since the results are already announced. so, sincere congratualtions for those who made it for xco. for those who didn't, please continue and dun feel bullied. may all of you do well for these coming years, not just in this area, but whatever you set your heart and hands on.
it seems stupid now, on hindsight. but then, it really meant a lot to me, because of what we've been through. so at the risk of sounding clinche or crazy, that simple interview just breaks my heart. then again, i've always been rather sentimental.
the rain just began to fall.
jiayou people! do urself proud.
